The rescue rangers

It's no secret that cats and dogs will not be best friends by choice. The situation here isn't any different. Although the dogs don't mind our tomcat Arthur strolling around the house, Arthur isn't too fond of the whippets. He bears their presence, but they can't expect anything more. He likes to tease them and in his mind he's the king of this jungle.

It's interesting to witness the interaction between the dogs and the cat. Whenever Arthur is sitting on the deck, waiting to come inside, Inthe is there to let us know. She cries and asks us to let Arthur in. Like Rebba licks Inthe dry after a walk in the rain, Inthe tries to dry off Arthur too. That's too much for this tomcat. His pride won't let him give in to this kind of luxurious treatment. So he sticks his tail right up in the air and paces to the bathroom for a bite.

Arthur's bed is right behind the couch where both whippets like to hang out on. I overheard Arthur making these funny throat noises, like he was not feeling well. Inthe panicked and raced over to him, like she planned on asking him what was wrong. She then gave me that desperate look: HELP HIM! I could tell how worried Inthe was. There was no need to, because Arthur does this every now and then and he's absolutely fine. But Inthe wouldn't rest until I came to see what was wrong. She stood right by his side to make sure I would help.

Some people say pets don't have feelings nor a brain. I think they are wrong. If only people would take the time to see the interaction between pets and their owners, they would know better.
