The beach was pretty empty. School started this week so there weren't many local kids. The shore was so clean and shell free, it was a true joy to find some refreshment in the water. It was kinda cold at first, but then again: we are not pussies! So we jumped up and down to keep our heads above the waves - no that didn't always work - and it felt real good! I do know now that insulin pumps should be taken off before you go swimming...
Did you know that the ocean over here is crowded with pelicans, diving for fresh fish? That was so awesome to watch! They are so fast and too smart!
We grabbed some lunch on the beach at the local Beach Shack: fresh sesame tuna and some corn chips with mango salsa for me, steak and cheese sandwich for the girls and grilled chicken chipotle for hubby. We're still not used to the free refills.. it's just too much. You're not done drinking your soda when they already bring you a free new drink. American people drink a whole lot more than we do. I think I'll stick to water from now on, since my tummy is bloated with soda..

:-)
